Health Is Wealth!! Movement is the Medicine!
What have You done for your Health lately?
Arrived in Colorado from Ohio in mid 90's, and became immersed in the running, biking, hiking, rock climbing and skiing scenes. Competitive distance running was a big reason for coming to the state, as Boulder is the Mecca! Now 25+ years later, my road/trail running and Colorado High Country mountaineering experience is significant.
Summited hundreds of the highest peaks in the Rocky Mountains...50 different 14,000' peaks in Colorado (14,255' Longs Peak 15 separate times using many different routes), the 13,770' Grand Teton Mountain in Wyoming, and the 867' Devils Tower also in Wyoming.
Summited over 60 named peaks 10,000' and higher in Rocky Mountain Park. Many using rope and traditional climbing equipment, as on Sharkstooth, Spearhead, Petit Grepon, Notchtop, Kieners and Keyhole Ridge routes on Longs Peak. Gaining expertise in technical back country adventuring is not easily acquired, and can be a dangerous, risky activity. Thankfully I have never had an accident or serious injury. However, I've had good friends lose their lives in the mountains.
As a traditional/sport rock climber as well, I've climbed throughout Colorado, including Eldorado Canyon State Park, Lumpy Ridge in Estes Park, Boulder Canyon, the Flatirons and alpine routes in Rocky Mountain NP, for over two and a half decades.
In distance running, I completed 10 (26.2) marathons, including the Boston, MA Marathon (3 times), Marine Corp Marathon, Washington DC (twice), Columbus, OH (twice), Cleveland, OH, Steamboat, CO and Chicago, IL (once each).
I wished to compete at a higher level as a masters athlete (age group 40+). I joined the Boulder Road Runners club and spent 10 years as a member, honing my running speed and skills at varying distances, a mile high (5280'). I then met and was coached by Dave Scott (legendary triathlete and tri/run coach) who increased my fitness to a new level.
Personal training grew out of wanting to give back to those who might benefit from all my experience. And help improve the health and well being of others in the Boulder community. Helping others with their health was the most rewarding benefit of all!
And Living an Exciting, Dynamic Life... is as Good as It Gets!
Mountain and road cycling are my passions!
I've Summited 50 of Colorado 14,000' mountains (14ers), and have also summited over 60 named peaks 10,000' or higher in Rocky Mountain National Park, including 18 of top 20 highest peaks. I've summited Long's Peak 15x over the years using many different routes.
Hiking mountains brings me joy!
A traditional and sport climber in Eldorado Canyon, Boulder Canyon, The Flatirons and Lumpy Ridge (RMNP) here on the front range of Colorado...l've led routes to top of Devils Tower, The Grand Teton and Vedauwoo in Wyoming. Have climbed hundreds of rock routes in Eldorado Canyon, Boulder, Garden of the Gods and Rocky Mountain National Park over the years.
Winter training/recreation takes me to high places in the Rocky Mountains nordic skiing. Good times in the white powder of the Colorado high country.

I practice light weight Strength/Resistance training now (at age 67) for muscle toning.
Heavy training has not been on my radar for many years,
Cardio is more important IMO,
walking /biking/hiking!
Less is MORE!
Chronic bone/ligament/muscle pain/soreness from overuse is not worth it!
Hip/Knee replacement is the dread!
NOT Worth it in my opinion!
Don't be Obsessed with repetition!
Take Rest Days.
I practice a Palio Diet eating mostly fish/seafood (salmon/tuna/shrimp) for protein and Omega-3 fatty acids.
