I was raised in Silver Lake, Ohio where I  was also a home owner for 10 years, before moving to Boulder, Colorado in June of 1996.

Recreational Activity:

Upon arriving in Colorado in 1996, I became immersed in running, hiking, skiing and rock climbing. Competitive distance running was a big reason for coming to Colorado because Boulder was the Mecca!  Now, 26 years later, my running and mountaineering experience is significant,  with over 25 years in the Colorado High Country, and beyond... I've summited hundreds of the highest peaks in the Rocky Mountains.  Including 45 different 14,000' peaks in Colorado (14,255' Longs Peak 15 separate times using many different routes), the 13,770' Grand Teton Mountain in Wyoming, and the 867' Devils Tower also in Wyoming.

I've summited over 60 peaks 10,000' and higher in Rocky Mountain Park. Many using rope and traditional climbing equipment,  as on Sharkstooth, Spearhead, Petit Grepon, Kieners and Keyhole Ridge routes on Longs Peak.  Gaining expertise in technical back country adventuring is not easily acquired and can be a dangerous, risky activity.   Thankfully I have never had an accident or serious injury.

A traditional/sport rock climber as well, I've climbed throughout Colorado, including Eldorado Canyon State Park, Boulder Canyon, the Flatirons and alpine routes in Rocky Mountain NP, for over two and a half decades.

In distance running, I completed 10 (26.2) marathons, including the Boston Marathon 3 times and Marine Corp Marathon twice, I wished to compete at a higher level as a masters athlete (age group 40+).  I joined the Boulder Road Runners club and spent 10 years as a member, honing my running speed and skills at varying distances, a mile high (5280').  I then met and was coached by Dave Scott (legendary triathlete, 6x Ironman World champ) who increased my fitness to a new level.

Personal training grew out of wanting to give back to those who could benefit from all my experience.  And help improve the health and well being of others in the community.

Trivia:

I was a Golf fanatic growing up in Silver Lake, Ohio.  Back in the 1970's, in the summer months when high school was out for the year, I golf caddy'd at Silver Lake CC and at Firestone CC in Akron, Ohio for fun, exercise & income.  The USPGA held an annual tournament at Firestone for 15 years called The American Golf Classic.  I was a caddy in 6 of these pro tournaments, including the 57th PGA Championship in 1975, one the PGA's Major Championships.  I was on the bag for 2 time US Open Champion Julius Boros in the first 2 tournament years.   Then for David Graham, John Mahaffey in ensuing years, and finally for Jerry Barber (1961 PGA Champ) in the 1975 PGA Championship.

Exciting times indeed!

I was an avid amatuer golfer myself during the 70's and 80's.
